Neha Kapur Biography

Neha Kapur is an established Indian model and Miss India Universe, 2006.

Neha Kapur (sometimes spelled as Neha Kapoor) is the reigning Pond's Femina Miss India-Universe. She is 22 years old and hails from New Delhi. Neha has learnt classical dance forms when she was very young. She has four years of training in Bharatnatyam and eight years in Kathak.

Prior to the Miss India contest, Kapur underwent Rhinoplasty to produce a more Western, refined nose.

"Oh god! It's still not sinking in. It has to sink. It has to sink," were among the first few words Miss India Universe 2006 Kapur said when she won the most coveted crown.

"I feel unreal, euphoric. Your name being called out is the most amazing feeling. It's unbelievable. I remember backstage when they were calling out the lucky five who would make it from the ten of us I felt I was not going to make it. My name was the last
to be called and here I am with the most beautiful crown on my head that every girl wants to wear," Kapur said.

In addition to winning the main Femina Miss India Universe 2006 crown, Kapur also won the Femina Miss Fresh Face and Femina Miss Photogenic awards in the pageant.

Kapur represented India at the Miss Universe 2006 pageant held on July 23rd in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. She however failed to become the third Miss Universe from India. After having crossed the first hurdle of making it to the top 20
she was eliminated in the second round. She also competed in the swimsuit competition.

Kapur stands 5'9.5" and her vital stats are 32-23.5-37. She is a fine arts student and holds a Fashion Designing degree from the Pearl Academy. She is a fairly established ramp model in India and works since April 2003 with the Elite Model Management.

Her hobbies include painting mythological themes and women, Watching Classical English movies and reading. She wishes to make pots and pots of money in the future.

Kapur believes Femina Miss India 2006 provides her a platform for proving herself to the rest of the world and most importantly to herself. She hopes to get a strong foothold on many aspects of self grooming by participating in the training
programme of the contest.

be regarded as the most beautiful woman in India today !! In 1994, Aishwarya Rai, one of the most beautiful women in the
world, could not win the Miss India contest. She went ahead and won the Miss World contest. Susmita Sen that year was the
winner and she topped it by winning the Miss Universe title. Over the years .. did the beauty factor in the Miss India
competition become insignificant ???

This year the twenty-two year old Miss India Universe Neha Kapur from Delhi won the Femina Miss India 2006 contest while
Natasha Suri from Mumbai was the first runner up. And none of them would match the beauty and grace of Aishwarya Rai or
Sushmita Sen or even Priyanka Chopra !! But again the interpretation of beauty varies from person to person.

Agreed Miss India is not just beauty intelligence, quick and appropriate answers, a beautiful figure and poise are important
